Cave Management Plans

The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) manages four of Western Australia’s most spectacular cave tourism icons – Ngilgi Cave, Lake Cave, Mammoth Cave and Jewel Cave - which attract around 200,000 visitors annually.

These spectacularly decorated caves contain many fragile features which require careful management to ensure their continued preservation and sustainable use.

Subterranean Ecology was commissioned by MRBTA to prepare Environmental Management Plans for its tourist cave precincts.

The Management Plans cover all aspects required to guide comprehensive and sustainable management of the underground and surface environments, visitors, and infrastructure within these precincts and connected catchment areas.
