Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy Statement
Subterranean Ecology is committed to
the health, safety and well-being
of all employees, fellow subcontractors and visitors to our working
environments.
Our over-arching goal is to provide
and maintain a working environment
with zero workplace incidents because we firmly consider that all
workplace injuries can be avoided.
To achieve this goal we shall
integrate best practices into all aspects
of our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management Policy.

- Not compromising the safety and our duty of care to any of our employees.
- Adhering or exceeding requirements of all applicable laws, regulations and statutory obligations.
- Allocate responsibilities and accountabilities through job descriptions and performance monitoring.
- Provide the necessary resources and training to ensure our HSE goals are achieved.
- Identifying, assessing and managing hazards and risks in the workplace.
- Develop processes that facilitate continual improvement in the health and safety management system as well as health and safety performance.
- Establish open communication and consultation with employees and visitors to our working environments regarding Subterranean Ecology health and safety expectations.
- Support employees in their decision to stop work and intervene when unsafe acts or unsafe conditions are identified.
- Maintain a pro-active role in health and safety management.
In addition, Subterranean Ecology
seeks and encourages the co-operation
and involvement of employees in achieving our occupational health and
safety goals of creating a healthy and safe working environment. This
includes the personnel responsibility of Subterranean Ecology staff to:
- Work safely at all times to ensure they do not compromise their own or anyone else’s health and safety in the workplace.
- Immediately report any hazards and incidents encountered to their work supervisor and OHSE officer.
- Follow all safety programs and safe working protocols including the use of specified personal protective equipment provided.
- Participate in occupational health and safety training and consultation initiatives.
Subterranean Ecology aims to
continually review and improve health and
safety strategies, as per the Subterranean Ecology Health, Safety and
Environment Manual, to ensure that it continues to minimize risk and to
accurately reflect and account for the scope of our activities.
